P005 The Honest Photographer
After years of documenting streets and urban life in search of what it means to take “honest” photos, The Honest Photographer emerges from the artist’s evolving interest in the intersection of photography, art, and artificial intelligence to question the nature of creative processes. Inspired by an exchange between photographers about “老老实实拍照” (“take honest photos”)—a phrase traditionally advocating for photographic truth—the project transforms this ideal into a recursive exploration of artistic choice, creative judgment, and the shifting power of interpretation.
P004 Dream Together
Dream Together explores the fragmented duality of urban life—where moments of alienation and connection continuously weave together. Across the streets of North America, millions pass one another, isolated within their own worlds, yet within the chaos, brief but profound moments of connection break through. These glances, gestures, and expressions—while often fleeting—carry an intensity that lingers, reminding us of the shared humanity beneath the surface.
P003 Hyakki Yagyo
As a child growing up in China, I was deeply influenced by ghostly tales like the Japanese “Hyakki Yagyo” (百鬼夜行), or “Night Parade of One Hundred Demons,” where supernatural entities parade through the night, blending fear and reverence. While experiencing Día de los Muertos in Oaxaca, Mexico, I saw a striking contrast—death, rather than feared, was celebrated with vibrant colors, music, and communal joy. These two traditions, while different, share a deep engagement with the unknown, creating a bridge between the world of the living and the dead.
P002 America: Polarizingly United
America: Polarizingly United is a visual exploration of a divided nation, documented during the protests surrounding President Donald Trump’s indictment. The series presents an intense atmosphere where division, anger, and opposition are felt palpably, yet moments of unexpected connection and humanity emerge from the chaos.
P001 Echoes of Defiance
In 2022, two pivotal moments became global symbols of the struggle for women’s rights: the overturning of Roe v. Wade in the United States and the death of Mahsa Amini in Iran. Despite their geographic and cultural differences, these events are bound by a shared thread—the enduring fight against patriarchal systems that seek to control women’s bodies and autonomy.
